Rose looked up from buttering toast as the Doctor came into the kitchen, her eyes were a little puffy, but she was composed now, no sign of the tears she had obviously shed.
“Are you all right?” He asked quietly.
“Sure, I’m fine. Toast is ready, the jam is still in the fridge. Where’s Jack?”
“Bathroom. Rose…”
“I’m fine, really. I guess I always knew that what I wanted to happen with you wasn’t going to. It’s a crush, I know that. If Jack will make you happy, then I’m not going to do anything to ruin that. You deserve a bit of happiness.”
“Thank you, Rose.”
She offered him a faint smile and shrugged, bringing the plate of toast over to the table.
“Is he going to be long? Should I put some more bread next to the toaster so he can make fresh?”
The Doctor was about to reply that he didn’t know, when they heard muffled footfalls approaching down the corridor outside. The footsteps turned the corner nearest the kitchen, and Jack appeared in the doorway, his hair still damp, and sticking up in all directions where he had roughly toweled it. He was wearing the uniform trousers he had been wearing when they had rescued him, and a white T-shirt that the Doctor knew he’d been wearing underneath, and he almost kicked himself for not remembering that Jack had brought nothing with him, that he had no other clothes.
“I’ll show you where the wardrobe room is after breakfast, you can get whatever you need from there for now. We can take you shopping the next time we hit a suitable planet.”
“Well, we haven’t been to Earth for a whole day, we’re bound to end up there sooner rather than later.” Rose teased the Doctor.
Jack raised an eyebrow curiously as he slid into the seat beside the Doctor’s at the table, reaching out to take some toast from the plate as Rose pushed it in his direction.
“The Doctor, or possibly the TARDIS, is so fond of Earth, we seem to end up there every couple of days, whether that was the intended destination or not.” She explained, giggling at the mock scowl the Doctor shot her.
“Well, eat you breakfast. We’ve landed, and I can assure you that it’s not Earth.” He said with mock hauteur. Pouring himself a cup of tea and pretending to ignore them.
“I’m going to get dressed.” Rose laughed, shoving the last of her toast into her mouth, and heading out of the room.
The Doctor turned his attention to Jack, who was pulling his toast to pieces but not actually eating anything.
“Eat, please.” The Doctor said quietly, reaching out to try to smooth the wild spikes of Jack’s damp hair. Jack leaned into the touch, closing his eyes for a moment.
“I can’t,” he said with a slight smile.
“Jack, going hungry is no better than not sleeping.”
“I’m not trying to starve myself.” Jack said with a smile, pushing the plate away, and rising from the table. He leaned over the Doctor’s shoulder, and pressed a kiss to the older man’s lips.
“I’m allergic to wheat flour.” He whispered in the Doctor’s ear. He squeezed the leather covered shoulder and stood up.
“So, this wardrobe room?” He asked.
“You should still eat something Jack.”
“Later, when I have a chance to check the contents.”
“How serious an allergy is this?” The Doctor asked.
“Not quite to the level where I can’t touch the stuff, but eating it is a very bad idea.”
“Anaphylactic?”
“If I ingested enough of it without realizing, but my wrist comp should warn me if I’m handling wheat products. It’s not going to be an issue, wheat is only common on Earth, and her colony worlds.”
“And any planet they trade with.”
“I’ve managed to avoid killing myself yet.”
“All right, come on, the wardrobe is this way.” The Doctor said, putting his own plate and cup into the sink, and leading Jack out of the room, his mind running over ways to keep Jack from being accidentally poisoned.
Rose was sitting in the Captain’s chair when the two men came into the console room, and she was hard pressed not to whistle at Jack as he came in. Black jeans that looked like they might have been sprayed onto him, a tight, white t-shirt that clearly defined the muscles of his chest and abs. Black boots, and a black cotton duster which was slung over his arm completed the look. He caught her open mouthed stare and grinned at her.
“Good job there are no flies in here,” he teased.
She snapped her mouth shut and blushed hotly.
“Sorry, it’s just…..way different to the uniform.”
“Come on, come on, we’ve landed.” The Doctor hustled them in the direction of the door, resting a possessive hand on Jack’s ass as he passed. Rose pretended she didn’t see the action, still stinging a little over having her fantasies knocked out.
They stopped outside the TARDIS door so that the Doctor could make sure it was locked, and Jack and Rose took the opportunity to look around. They had landed in what looked like a forest clearing. It was night time, and through the gap in the canopy there were crystal clear, glittering stars. The air was crisp, but not too chilled, and leaves rustled gently in a very faint breeze, which carried a hint of an exotic scent.
“Smells like
“Pine and cinnamon.” The Doctor agreed, joining them. Jack wasn’t familiar with what they were referring to, so he kept quiet, his eyes taking in the delicate white flowers scattered across the clearing.
“Where are we?” Rose asked.
“That would be telling.” The Doctor grabbed her hand in his right, and Jack’s in his left, and started pulling them toward a break in the trees. He kept hold of them both as he towed them through the dark forest, pulling the to a halt just as they cleared the trees, before they could go plunging down a sheer cliff.
“Come on, there are some rocks over here we can sit on, we may have to wait a while,” the Doctor said, pulling them to the left.
The three of them settled onto the smooth rocks, side by side with Rose in the middle to help shield her from the breeze that was a little cooler now they weren’t sheltered by the trees.
They sat in companionable silence, and watched as two moons started to rise over the horizon, the first looked huge, taking up a good quarter of the sky as it slowly climbed, it was like a huge pearl, and cast a bright, while glow over the view. The second moon was dwarfed by it’s sister as it slowly peeked around it. The second moon was a small, pink globe that rose to sit just above the bigger satellite.
“It’s like those unicorn posters that you get in the shops.” Rose sighed happily.
Jack looked at the Doctor over her head in confusion, and the Doctor smirked, rolling his eyes. He had seen one of those posters, Anji had put it up on the inside of the wardrobe door in Fitz’s room, then laughed herself silly when it had taken him a week to notice it.
“How long have we been sitting here?” Rose asked with a yawn when both moons were high in the sky.
“A couple of hours, the best is yet to come,” the Doctor said. He pointed as the first silver streak shot across the sky.
“Shooting stars.” Rose exclaimed, jumping to her feet and moving toward the edge of the rocks.
“Mind the edge.” The Doctor warned her, and she waved an acknowledgement.
The Doctor shifted now that she wasn’t between them, and slid in behind Jack, his legs either side of the younger man’s legs, and slipped his arms around Jack’s waist, guiding him back to lean against his chest. Jack smiled, snuggling back into the contact, and resting his head on the Doctor’s shoulder, resting his hands over the Doctor’s hands as they watched the celestial light show.
Rose turned to look at them as the meteor shower petered out, and felt her heart flip at the sight of the two men on the rocks. The Doctor was no longer watching the skies, he was wrapped around Jack, watching the delighted expression on the other man’s face as he watched the remaining meteors. They looked stunning together, and despite herself, she found she was willing the Doctor to kiss the man in his arms. Almost as if he had heard her, the Doctor leaned forward and pressed his lips to Jack’s. She sighed as Jack twisted around to deepen the contact, and when they broke apart, they rested their foreheads together for a moment, eyes locked.
The Doctor finally looked up, and she saw guilt in his face as he saw her watching, so she gave him a bright grin, finding she didn’t need to work that hard at it now, and bounced over.
“That was awesome,” she said, plunking down and hugging them both.
“Shame we didn’t have a camera, mum would have loved to see that.”
“Good thing the TARDIS was recording it then, wasn’t it. You can give it to her next time we see her.” The Doctor grinned.
“Fantastic.” She said, bouncing to her feet again, and was surprised to be overcome by a huge yawn.
“Back to the TARDIS, I think. All good little humans should have some lunch and catch a nap.”
“But we not long got up!” Rose protested.
“And your brains now think it’s the middle of the night.” He pointed out, shooing them back in the direction they had come from.
After a light lunch of soup and cornbread, he chased them off to bed, and she found herself not minding the knowledge that the Doctor went with Jack, in fact, as she drifted off to sleep on top of her covers, she found her mind trying to recapture that kiss on the cliff top, and translate it to Jack’s room in the TARDIS.
Jack and the Doctor lay fully clothed on top of Jack’s bed, face to face as they lay on their sides, and the Doctor leaned in and kissed the man he knew he was falling in love with. Jack gave him a sleepy smile, and the Doctor watched him as he started to drift.
“I think I’m falling in love with you.” Jack murmured as his eyes closed.
“I know I’m falling for you.” The Doctor breathed in Jack’s ear, hoping that he was heard. He gathered the other man into a loose embrace, and allowed himself to slip into a light doze.

Please don't do anything too horrible to Jack.

I would never do anything TOO horrible to Jack, he has to have his happy endings, he's earned them!

As for not being "TOO horrible", it must mean that you are going to play this allergy to the full. So either a major reaction and the doctor sweeping in at the last minute and saving him, or possibly a series of scares that gives the doc a nervous break down.

I'm allergic to quite a few foods and Anaphylactic to various other foods (although not wheat) so it was nice to read that I have something in common with Jack as well. I can fully understand what he means about having to check contents of food which makes shopping and going out for dinner a whole lot of fun!!
Keep up the awesome work!!
