This is a rant, definitely a rant. Why the FUCK do people post fics to comms, linking back to LOCKED FUCKING PERSONAL JOURNALS??? I rather thought the point of posting your work to comms was that you wanted other people to read it, and you cannot assume that everyone who is a member of a comm is going to want to friend your personal journal JUST TO SEE IF THEY LIKE A FIC! I understand that after the whole 'strikethrough' debacle, people are leary of having their journals open to all and sundry, but for FUCKS SAKE if they want to put their fic on a comm then, they should just POST THE FIC ON THE FUCKING COMM and not link it to their personal journal!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. I have stopped reading a whole pile of fics because they linked to a locked journal. I have enough posts on my FL without adding lots and lots of other peoples posts that aren't fic related unless I have some other reason to read them.

I totally agree with you. If you know/like an author it's most likely already on you flist and you can see it... and everybody else won't be able to access it.
