This is a plea for help to all the people on my flist who make videos. What programs do you use to lift the images of the DVDs. All I can find are  programs for taking still screencaps, or really jerky 'video captures' that only lift about one frame in three or four. I'm looking for ideas on what I can pick up to take seamless video.

you need a program that 'rips' the video off the DVD - there are programs like A1 DVD Ripper, Platinum DVD Ripper

do a search for DVD Ripper software

Ooh, thank you. I'll have a look for them now, I'm dying to try my hand at making videos, but I was only able to get my hands on the bit to splice them together and add the music, not pick up the images in the first place.

Re: DVD Ripper

Thanks. I got hold of DVDRipper Platinum. Its good enough for what I needed (a little slow but the quality is good)
