Not mine. If they were, none of us would be posting here, we'd all be writing the scripts, *grin*

Muse

******
The Doctor sat on the edge of the bed, watching his lover sleeping, and mused on the unexpected direction his life had taken.

'I don't do domestic' Had been his mantra for a very long time, even before the time war, avoid entanglements, don't let anyone get too close, they'll only leave in the end. Keep your hearts under wraps, and they won't get broken.

Then this one man had come crashing into his life, and the Doctor had wanted to hate him, he almost wiped out the human race, he was glib, slick and dangerous. He flirted, flirted with Rose, with the TARDIS, with the Doctor himself, with anything remotely sentient, and the Doctor had wanted so much to dismiss him, dump him somewhere and move on.

Somehow though, this man, Captain Jack Harkness, had wormed inside his defenses, made the Doctor realize how much of the image he presented to the universe was a front, a barrier to keep his own heart from any further harm. That he really was brilliant, and funny, and oh so brave. The Doctor's hearts twisted at the memory of hearing Jack die on the Game-station, despite the evidence in front of him that Jack was alive, and safe and his.

He didn't know which of them had been more shocked, when he and Jack met up again after the TARDIS had brought him to investigate the opening of the rift in Cardiff, him by Jack being alive, being immortal, or Jack, by him having died, having a new face.

It had taken weeks to rebuild Jack's fractured trust, ease his sense of abandonment, and he smiled at the memory of the first time they had made love after being reunited. He had thought he had lost Jack again, and when Jack had been returned, battered, bruised and bloodied, the Doctor had grabbed him, kissed him firmly and told him he loved him. Jack had blushed, actually blushed and responded that he had always loved him, and had just been waiting for the timelord to cotton on.

He realized that sleepy blue eyes were fixed on him with a puzzled look.

"You OK?" He asked quietly.

"You're thinking too loud, and why are you sitting there instead of lying here?" Jack asked, his voice sweetly muzzy.

The Doctor smiled and lay down facing Jack, resting his forehead against Jack's.

"I was thinking about you." He said, stealing a light, gentle kiss.

"Nice thoughts?"

"Always. Go back to sleep." He said, carding his fingers lightly through the mussed dark hair. Jack smiled faintly and obeyed.

He had thought that the day Jack had agreed to bond with him, to become his mate, had been the happiest in all his 900 plus years, but he had been wrong, he mused as he rested one hand lightly alongside Jack's over the heavy curve of the immortals stomach, feeling their child shift lazily within.

A mate and a child on the way, he thought he might just like domestic after all.
