*****************************
Jack and the Doctor lay twined together, comfortably drowsy after making love, the Doctor’s fingers tracing idly over the bare skin of his partners chest, watching the faint sparks following the trail of his fingers.
“When are you going to tell me what’s going on?” The Doctor asked softly.
“Soon, it’s nearly time,” Jack said, catching his hand and holding it still over his heart.
The Doctor sat up, looking down at Jack in the silvery light of the moon that filtered in through the hotel room window.
“I’m worried about you Jack.”
“Don’t be, I promise Doctor, there is no danger,” Jack said firmly, pulling him back down into his arms.
Further conversation was cut off by the sound of the bedroom door opening, and small feet padding across the carpet.
“Mama, can’t sleep.” Kalen complained, padding to the side of the bed.
“Why not baby?” Jack asked, reaching out to stroke her hair.
“Don’t know.” She whimpered, obviously tired.
“Ok, you go and get back in bed, I’ll be there in a second.”
The little girl left the room, crossing the suite to the bedroom the children were sharing, and Jack got up, pulling on a pair of pajama pants.
“I’ll be back when I’ve got her settled,” Jack said, leaning down to kiss him.
“Ok,”
Jack checked on Bobby when he went into the children’s room, making sure he was sleeping properly, before going over to sit on the edge of Kalen’s bed.
“I want a cuddle, mama.”
“Ok, come here.”
Kalen scrambled out from under her covers, diving into Jack’s arms and clinging tight, her head on his shoulder. Jack rocked his daughter gently, stroking her back.
“What’s the matter baby?”
“I want to go to sleep, I’m tired, but I can’t.” She whimpered, and he could feel tears dampening his shoulder.
“Do you feel sick?” He asked her. She shook her head, sniffling, and he kissed the top of her head.
“Ok, how about a glass of warm milk?”
A long moment of silence, then she nodded against his shoulder. Jack carried her out of the room, deciding he didn’t want to risk waking Bobby up. There was no way he wanted both of them awake and miserable at two in the morning. Settling her on the sofa while he went through to the small kitchen area, he wasn’t surprised when the Doctor came out of their bedroom, dropping down onto the sofa beside her and holding out his arms. Kalen crawled into her father’s lap, snuggling against him as Jack warmed a beaker of milk for her.
It didn’t take long for Kalen to drift off with the warm milk, and the soothing presence of her parents, and the Doctor carried her back to her bed, tucking her in as Jack went to rinse out the beaker.
“She didn’t wake up again?” Jack asked as the Doctor came back out, closing the door softly.
“No. She must have just been over-excited about the holiday, and the theme park. We should bring the children to places like this more often, instead of some of the quiet breaks.”
“I know. I wonder if Ianto and Terrell are enjoying the honeymoon island.”
“Well, we’ll find out when they come back, won’t we.” The Doctor smiled.
Opening the balcony door, the Doctor pulled Jack outside, into the warm night air, and they leaned on the railing shoulder to shoulder, watching the surf washing up on the sand that glowed silver in the moonlight. Jack’s eyes tinted gold for a moment as he checked in with the TARDIS, standing in a hidden alcove below them, and she answered him with a message he had been waiting for. The Doctor caught Jack’s sudden brilliant grin and raised an eyebrow at him.
“I can tell you now, if you want to know.” Jack teased.
“Tell me what’s being going on?” The Doctor asked.
“Yep.”
“Then tell me,” the Doctor said, wide eyed.
Jack grinned again, and leaned forward to kiss him lightly before tilting his head to whisper in his ear.
“We’re making another TARDIS, for when the children are old enough to strike out on their own. I carried the soul of the new TARDIS, and the old girl has just told me the pocket dimension and shell is ready. Tomorrow, we’ll fuse the shell and the soul, and she can grow up, just like the children are growing up.”
The Doctor stared at Jack, speechless. He had thought that with Gallifrey gone, meaning no breeding pens, and no male TARDISes, then his old girl would be the last TARDIS, as he had once been the last Time Lord. Grinning at Jack, he pulled him into a deep, passionate kiss.
“You two are amazing, nuts, but amazing,” he said with a laugh when he let Jack up for air.

Just another short interlude, to tie up what Jack and the Doctor were up to while Ianto and Terrell were on their honeymoon. Can anyone guess where I very nearly ended this interlude, before deciding that was too evil, even for me? lol.
