Retcon and a helping of Hypnotic Suggestion, perhaps, that might make it stick this time. Rhys would definitely be better off with someone who really loved him, who wasn't spending most of her time looking for someone else.
If she was retconned, there would be a space in Torchwood 3 to be filled, Andy would probably be a good option, lol.
