Question

I have to ask, what may be the dumbest question in the history of dumb questions; what EXACTLY is trolling? My only notion of Trolls is the ugly little dude that lived under a bridge and was thwarted in his attempts to eat the three billy goats gruff.

Basically it's leaving comments or making posts which are deliberately offensive or likely to cause heated debate. The sort of people who go on, say, a Jack/Ianto comm and say that they think Ianto's a big girl and that Jack should be with Gwen. You know the ones - there are a lot of them in the TW fandom :S

I believe it comes from fishing (trolling a line) but then the image of the troll was too cool to let go.

Who am I kidding? Wikipedia will explain better than me.

Trolls make me sad.

Ah yes, I just called that ignorance, *g*, I never realized that it had a special name, thank you.

Trolls are very sad, that they have nothing better to do with their time :(. I was only curious because I joined a couple of comms recently that were both on moderated posting, because a Troll had been stirring up fights between them, despite the two comms shipping exactly the same relationship, between exactly the same characters.
