oh definitely - all too often Jack's portrayed in such a way he's almost a 'door mat' taking abuse from others (Rose, Gwen, etc.) and not really standing up to them
it always killed me watching TW - 'Small Worlds' when the team 'turns against' him because he let the little girl be taken by the fairies - part of me just wanted him to lose it a bit with them - cause if he'd not made that tough decision - the fairies would've wrecked havoc on the world
and even in DW - in Utopia - when the Doctor acts so cold and distant towards Jack - that's the one part that I don't forgive Russell and Julie for - making the Doctor so cold and unfeeling towards Jack - that was just so wrong - part of the reason I like your 'alternate' versions so much more
